The horrible tyrant, who separates you from God, is other mortals. Social reality, not real logical reality.
Satan is lord of this Social world.

I always thought that we were the Archons, but that works too.
Are you presuming that the Demiurge is evil?
The Demiurge is at least as real as any other non-physical thing thought upon long enough. It's an egregore, at the very least. It may well be something more.
