 Basically, no. 

 I mean, technically yes. The system is liquid. It ripples when you poke it. However, it stops rippling when you stop poking it, returning to the natural level. Sensors are sensitive, who knew.

 If you are healthy, you already don't care about spencer. He is irrelevant. You have a valence of maybe -0.3, on a scale with no upper or lower limit. Then it makes you feel [[better]] about him, going all the way up to -0.25. Then you relax back to -0.29. 

 You had no choice. Oh my god.

 The sensor does not make decisions.

 

 This is not the kind of mistake and honest and sane person makes. This is the deadly payload. All the rest is merely the delivery vehicle. The sugar hiding the aqua tofani. Mmm. Namelessness. 

 The fact it's technically true clinches the Sophism charge. This is someone deliberately exploiting innumeracy in an attempt to cripple his rivals. If it were a genuine misunderstanding, there would be non-strategic dissonance. A logical spelling or grammar error.

 This doesn't even happen to NPCs. If you've talked to an NPC without authorization, you find can change their mind, but it changes back the instant you stop applying pressure. (Ref: north korea.) There is no lasting behaviour change, not even a change of the kind of things they say. 

 Meanwhile, if you do have authorization, then you can make them say whatever you want. It's all the same to them. The [[change]] is illusory. "Obedience means say Y instead of X." NPCs remain obedient, remaining substantially identical, and now say Y. They didn't know what X means, they don't know what Y means, they don't care, they don't want to know, they only want to So Say We All.  

 

 You can't change how NPCs feel. They have no feelings to change.
 You can't change how a healthy person feels. They are stable. 

 You can't change how a crazy person feels in any meaningful way. You can only change what they hallucinate their obsession to be about. Yes this can sometimes result in highly dramatic behaviour alteration. Conversion to a new cult, for example.
 They are unstable because both states have nothing to do with Reality. They are ungrounded. (You may have heard. So it is rumoured.) No set of stimuli can make them prosocial. It's rearranging deck chairs on the titanic. "Would you like to drown on the left, or on the right, my darling?" Regardless of the stimuli, they will drown. 

 Seek and ye shall find. In particular, seek health, that ye escape the asylum.

 There are a couple of webcomics I really started to dislike after I found out about the author's politics. However, I never liked them that much in the first place. I was reading webcomics, after all, I was not in a position of high standards. They were tolerable.
 I "had no choice" but to dislike them. Errr yes, I do find I dislike the things I dislike. If I didn't dislike them I wouldn't be me. The person choosing to dislike something else would be someone else.
 Even a total full-spectrum fabrication won't make me like richard spencer, because I'll notice it's fake. Inconsistent with previous verified information. Even if he totally pseudonymizes and fakes an entirely new personality, he will eventually slip up. Folk who don't have mask-off moments have much better masks than spencer.

 Feelings can change in healthy folk if they're shallow to start with. A small absolute change to a small feeling is a large relative change.

 What happened is obedient NPCs got new orders, because obama granted the cia the grace to issue those orders starting january 2013. The ideas and personnel were anointed high status and authorized, therefore they were permitted to issue the new fatwas to the simplistic, impressionable, childlike NPCs.
 The fundamental problem is that you made a society that includes NPCs in the cybernetic feedback loop in the first place. Nobody with a soul is shocked that this didn't work out. Causing problems is the point of the design. 

 If you don't want problems, use a design that's not designed to cause problems.
 So, uh, functioning as intended. Good work. Carry on. 

 If you feel you are too affected by these things, build a psychohazmat suit. I did. It worked. 

 Nothing you can do about it? Make decisions when calm, not when excited. If the issue doesn't bore you enough to calm down, then you haven't thought it all the way through yet. Don't be shocked if half-baked ideas are vulnerable to manipulation.

 But yes don't go around telling toddlers santa isn't real and they're going to die painfully one day. They think you're telling them they're getting no presents because mommy doesn't love them, and they're going to die soon because daddy is going to stop feeding them. Highly traumatic. "They have no choice." Damn why does telling a toddler you're about to execute them cause a tantrum? So weird and irrational.

 Communication requires the skill. Even if the toddler is pushing 70, the skill is still required; still requires practice. At no point do lunches become free. 

 More importantly, don't include toddlers in your political formula, even if they have managed to exceed 18 years of age. Haha, lol. 

 P.S. Talking to toddlers about the future is so dumb I have to be explicit. Even a perfectly rational developed 3-year-old would only notice they don't have the frame of reference to properly understand events 80 years in the future. It's exactly like talking to a 50-year old about stuff 1400 years from now. "Bro, I'ma be dead. Even if I weren't, there's no way you know what you're talking about." If you know or should have known they would take you seriously, it's nothing but pointless, petty abuse. 

 Even if the toddler in question has reached 80 and you're talking about next election. Democracy is inherently sadistic. 

 So anyway, let's try an uncomfortable fact on you.

To justify obeying the authority they were going to obey anyway, NPCs mimic the feelings their internal LLM guesses they're supposed to mimic in order to justify the obedient action. They have no idea that others have genuine subjective experience, they believe outward behaviour is all that there is. (Insofar as they can be said to have beliefs at all.)

 Likewise, unstable crazies have no idea what having a stable mind is like, and wouldn't believe it exists even if they saw one in action.
 Meanwhile nobody stable is dumb enough to hang around the crazies for long enough to risk the crazies earning a breakthrough. The healthy "have no choice" but to find them insufferable, and consequently refuse to suffer them.
