Revenge is Sour and Freedom

 The condition under which society will permit freedom is when you don't need it. 

 If your society is cool, you don't need to be free of it. If society is trying to clamp down on your freedom, it is because it is planning on being parasitical and tyrannous. 

 

 It goes both ways.

 

 The condition under which society is capable of mortally wounding your freedom is that it doesn't need to. Evil is weak. Tyrants are weak. Tyrants are so violent because they're insecure. Even if they build a physical iron curtain, they can't retain anyone who seriously wants out.

 I often say security is always affordable, but what I should say is that for cooperators, security is always affordable. For defectors, security is impossible. To successfully defect, they must first delegitimize security. Black governments get overthrown all the time because they're inherently unstable. The things they would need to do to consolidate would legitimize their own resistance. 

 Free will is a cosmic guarantee. Mysteriously, it is branded directly into the underlying fabric of Existence. It is a true inalienable right. 

 If you are oppressed, it is because your will freely chose to remain under the oppressor.
