Incorrect: Thanatos as Peaceful Death

 The correct term is [merciful] death. 

 Often the terminal patient thrashes, trying to defy the end he has already freely chosen. It is not peaceful. Indeed, greater mercy, sparing him the most suffering, is to kill him at the start, when he is most healthy and capable of resisting. When the death is most violent. 

 The death Thanatos represented could be peaceful, but only if the terminal case accepted the Truth of its inevitability. 

 The intent that was behind Thanatos is Iust Death.
 Those who cheated him of his due were only harming themselves. Truly they did not defy Thanatos, they attempted to defy themselves, their own will.

The Problem With Remorse

 Adults who feel remorse don't feel remorse, because they think ahead and don't do the thing they'll regret in the first place. 

 Children get a pass since they have great difficulty thinking ahead. I suspect non-abused teenagers are already too old for this pass. 

 Adults who do things which ought to make them feel remorse are shameless deviants. If they had the capacity to feel any form of guilt, they wouldn't be doing it in the first place. If you need to demand an apology from an adult, demand instead their life. It would be the merciful and compassionate option, since they a) they clearly hate themselves and b) all their neighbours would be better off without them.

 Consequently remorse is useless. Consider children again - remorse only works if you can think ahead, and for the purposes of this discussion, if they can think ahead, they're not children. Meaningless suffering. Adults, at least adults who know what words mean and have the capacity to feel remorse, can simply be asked not to do whatever it is. They can be reasoned with, and don't need to be forced, even by internal factors. 

 Completely useless.

 To a member of the christian races, you can't merely dislike something, it has to be evil.

Merchants Are Genetic Traitors

 The merchant caste is the only caste with the opportunity for a positive-sum fundamental interaction. Warriors define the hierarchy by beating each other up. Negative sum. Scholars define the hierarchy by beating each other up with words. Negative sum. Merchants express friendship through trade, where both sides get more than they already had. Instead, the merchant caste is the traitor caste.

 Perimeter, surface, volume. The warriors defend the perimeter, dealing with strangers who don't expect trust. Scholars are supposed to deal with the natural substrate, which can't want to cooperate, it just is. Merchants deal intratribally, meaning they're the only caste which has a real opportunity for treachery. 

 Security is affordable. This means the warriors can do their job, securing the perimeter.
 Innovation is slow. The farmers and miners and loggers do what scholars tell them to do, but the scholars can't contribute much over the course of a single mortal lifetime.
 Hunter tribes constitute an almost closed system. Result: the way to get ahead is to scam the other merchants. To first order approximation, all the positive-sum trades have already been made.

 Merchants could have constructed a stable hierarchy, letting the obvious winners win without a fight. Could have come up with cheap and reliable tests, then stuck with them. Since this is the underworld, since mortals are the children of Satan, they didn't. They went all-in on attempted usurpation. (P.S, the winners win anyway, e.g. Son Also Rises, so this produces the rat races, everyone running harder and harder to stay where they already are.) 

 Merchant instincts are all about earning trust so you can fuck over the idiot who was dumb enough to trust you. At best, it's about exploiting the moron who has no choice but to trust you, because they're so dumb trying to follow their own judgment is even worse. 

Leftists Look Retarded on Purpose

 It's done in solidarity with their underclass retards. When you call them stupid, they are thinking, "Thanks, I work hard to look this dumb!" 

 You may find their habit of listing credetials confusing, but it is part of the bit. "Even a phd ctr mae cfa cma lfmao is a complete fucking moron. (cfm) So say we all." 

 They're only embarrassed if you catch them saying something sensible. Or, heaven forfend, profound. 

 Much of the degredation in public conversation has been intentional innovation. They were always trying to look this idiotic, but couldn't work out how. Warriors Pick a Fight With God

 There are many myths about Mars losing a fight. That's a hint.
 If you never miss a flight, the time you're wasting in airports is more than you lose from a missed flight.
 If you never lose a fight, you are a coward. You're not picking fights, you're bullying the weak. Cowards do not grow. IRL you gain XP and level up from defeat, not victory.

 For the warrior, the greatest disappointment is that evil is weak. It's not strong enough to fight back. Removing evil is labour, not warfare. Get a merchant, hire him to organize some peasants to do it for you.

 Solution: pick a fight with good. All but guaranteed to lose that fight. Fighting strong opponents is good. Fighting the strongest opponent is best. 

 There is an issue. How do you pick a fight with god without being profane? Tricky. Requires profound wisdom, something warriors rarely hold great enthusiasm for...
 If you do it wrong, you don't get a fight, you go down even more easily than evil does. Squish. Less jello man, more turpentine man - no resistance at all. Have to somehow make everyone fight as if the stakes couldn't be higher, yet the end result must be the status quo, even if you win. 

 As we cast our attention back into epochs, we can see this drive is one of the major inputs shaping the cosmos.

 What if it's Sith, again? If somebody wins against god, what can they do but raise an apprentice, helping him - via making him lose - defeat the master?
 The master must uphold war itself, rather than his own personal might. When the apprentice strikes down the lord, it is not failure, it is success. How else can war grow, can the master grow, except by raising his own bane?
 Warriors are kinda weird. Them's the breaks tho.

Taxation is a War Crime

 War crimes are very easy to define. A war crime is when a government commits an act of war against its own subjects. 

 Saying taxation is [theft] is lowballing to a ludicrous degree. 

 According to the light side, the only real purpose of a government is to protect its subjects from war. When they loot and pillage their own subjects, they contravene their only legitimate function. Every government recorded in history is a black government.

Perhaps State Formation Should be Called Farmer Formation

 Pandora's seed suggests that farming was a terrible idea. Especially with the barely-husbanded plants that early farmers had access to, it is overwhelmingly likely that they were perfectly aware that it was a terrible idea. They knew farming made you sick, short, and weak. 

 My theory says they didn't have a choice. Wheat fields are hard to hide and ripen in sync, meaning the tax man knows exactly where and when to apply traitorous force. The local strongman realized wheat farming made taxation very difficult to evade, so they shackled a ton of slaves and forced them to farm wheat. Statehood causes farming. As it happens, although farmers are almost totally useless, farming does support population densities up to 100 times that of hunters. No matter how good you are at pre-gunpowder war and no matter how poor your enemy, you can't win a 1 vs. 100 fight.

 Consider the logistics. In a hunter tribe, not everyone can be a warrior, or even a hunter. Someone has to hunt for the warrior, and someone has to make spears and furs for the hunter. There's a lot of support infrastructure. I can imagine the 1 hunter waging guerilla war with impunity against the softling farmers, but it's not even 1 vs. 100, it's 1 vs. 200 or worse. He can barely kill them as fast as they breed.
 The farmers are such poor warriors that training them is irrelevant. Draft the lot of them, go full zerg rush, let the survivors work out how not to starve next winter. Conveniently the harvest can be stored and wait for the slave soldiers to return. Farmers can go from 100% farming to 100% warfare, paying the price of holocaust-level casualties. Hunter tribes can't transition to 100% warfare unless they plan to loot all their food - and even then, a healthy hunter will suffer terribly trying to transition to a farmer diet. Meanwhile, if war preparation damages the harvest, then, well, wage war until enough slave soldiers die that the harvest was big enough.

 China turned to rice farming because the irrigation works can be constructed with a single point of failure, allowing the chief parasite an even more extreme form of leverage. Bonus: the system is tamper evident. Hard to make a secret backup irrigation ditch. It's not rice farming => hydraulic empire, it's the fact the han precursors had the bright idea of a hydraulic empire, and imposed rice farming via defection.
 P.S. They scaled up the single point of failure strategy to the whole country, meaning when the parasite stuttered, the whole realm stuttered, amplifying small issues into catastrophes. Karmic debt for permitting a black government. 

 Perhaps northern europe is less treasonous because the winter is too cold and snowy to wage war. In the south, you can sow, guard the land, harvest, then campaign over the winter. Indeed, what else are you going to do with all these bored farmers during the cold months? In the north, sure you can war between sowing and harvest, but only by leaving your wealth exposed. Have to develop some measure of cooperative peacetime, because warfare is too risky.
 Likewise, it would seem pastoralists are less dysgenic because there's no time the herd becomes concentrated into a tiny, easily-guarded form. Can't go full zerg and follow up with full rabbit. The compromise between hunter health and cultivated population density is unfavourable to the agriculturalist.

 Early wheat taxers likely knew pasturing was better, but it makes taxation harder, so they eschewed it. When the tax man comes for your cow, you can harass him over the open meadows while driving your herd to flee. Farming security is only cheap too late, when the harvest is already in and stored in the silos.
 In response to farming empires, pastoralism arose and grew due to competitive advantages. 

 If you burn a wheat field, it's a one-step conversion to pasture. Doesn't matter how many farmers there are, partly because they suck so hard due to overcrowding et al, and partly because you and your herd can flee until they're too tired to chase, and then the farmers quietly starve at no further risk to you. What are they gonna do, trample the meadows? Which the herds already do?
 That is: farming is profane. Herding is sacred, at least to a degree.

 

 The slave farmers should have retained their honour rather than their lives. If they had demanded health and holy glory, the strongman would have lost. Cowardice snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.
 They didn't because Caino masochiens hates itself. The suffering was the point. Mere subtraction biology: maximize lives not worth living. 

 Herding would be even more obviously superior if the pastoralists didn't keep boinking the local holes and picking up imbecilic farming genes.
 One must wonder if there's an even more sacred form of cultivation, one that mogs herding as badly as herding mogs farming.

Overlord Theory: Not an Isekai

 I think it's [I have no mouth but I must scream]. Satoru believes he's in charge of momonga, but he isn't. Momonga does the thinking and makes the decisions, but he has a confabulating narrator hanging around in his head, who makes up reasons why the things he thinks he's doing are his own idea. Momonga genuinely is the high-tier strategist demiurge thinks he is, but satoru isn't privy to the real cognition, so it all comes out of the blue for him.

 I would say satoru briefly had influence. Momonga wouldn't bother groping albedo. "But since I didn't act on it, my lust went away." I think satoru's influence all but vanished at this point. Perhaps momonga sleeps occasionally and lets satoru run amok, primarily for comedic episodes contained entirely in the tomb. 

 Realistically, could satoru fool demiurge? Not a chance. Hence, demiurge is not being fooled. It's only the readers, or perhaps the author himself who doesn't understand what comes out of his pen.

 What I like about overlord is almost entirely confined to the first volume/season. First, non-superstitious military preparedness, such as maintaining proper stealth in an unknown environment. Second, reacting to normal heroic triggers with open villainy. Hero: "I will visit justice upon the perpetrators." Ainz: "I will visit agony and despair upon the perpetrators." If you antagonize his stuff, he will show you he is the greater antagonist.

 P.S. Satoru is a loser. His only goal is to find other players, ideally other members of nazarick. There are no other players. Contrast: although luffy will never find the one piece, it either exists or he can get rich off some equivalent treasure; he's only being cockblocked by author fiat, diablos ex machina. Satoru was doomed to failure since chapter 1.
 Momonga knows this which is why nothing he does makes sense in terms of finding players, with the exception that he would rather not be taken by surprise by one.

Is he going to run off and ask for help by some boobless, milkless stranger, who would as soon bash his skull against the nearest tree? Defect-defect equilibrium, in violation of Machiavelli's dictum. "Teachers deserve more pay." Every single one of them is a massive loser, why would they deserve anything?

  Not stealing a loaf of bread isn't especially hard. They had soup kitchens back then too. If you need food, sure the food sucks, but it exists, it's free. A fortiori, pity is a thing. Ask around enough and some bleeding heart will hire you out of pity. Etc. Someone stealing has passed up all these opportunities. Crime always comes from envy, not need. If you live in a society with the death penalty for stealing and you do it anyway, it demonstrates an exceptional love of crime. Even under [[compassionate]] modes of thinking, there is no excuse for letting a bread (or soda) thief live.
 Letting them live is only done because even thieves pay taxes. Public costs, private profits. Secondarily black government is inherently criminal, and they feel spiritual fellowship with the lawbreaker. Hanging bread thieves and not hanging mayors or mandarins is plainly incoherent. (Nearly everyone untrustworthy was killed.) Running for public office is a capital crime. Absolute treason. If you tolerate treason regularly, what foot do you have to stand on to condemn rape or murder? None, and the result you see before you.

 

 Hundreds of years of insufficient execution and insufficient child mortality has increased the criminal rate, so in modern times you would be lucky if 15 survived.

 Or rather, you're incredibly unlucky, because it's likely all 30 survived. Which is why you can't have nice things. Can't afford it, due to carrying the excess, despicable 15. Bonus: they will breed more than you, meaning next generation it should be 18 executions per 30. Then there's immigration from countries with low-execution histories...

Self Reminder: Nobody Has Principles

 Tho you have to admit the culture is amusing. Everyone running around desperately trying to make someone else live up to principles they don't have. Birth is a Capital Crime

 All life is not valuable. Life is defection and treachery. The default response to giving birth should be to guillotine the baby. 

 Under normal circumstances, the marginal baby is going to starve to death anyway. At best, they will breed, and all the grandchildren will starve to death. In the meantime they consume wealth that could serve a bloodline which is not doomed. Skip the middle part, free up the wealth. Executing the doomed newborn is a mercy, killing them quickly and rarely instead of slowly and numerously.

 If the would-be parents don't like that idea, they can seek innovation in contraceptives or abortifacients.

 A live birth should require an intentional pardon from the local lord. Confirm it in person, provided that doesn't cause excessive anxiety.

 Being too soft to execute newborns is also a capital crime. If you don't like the idea, you're welcome to go from this mortal coil and stay go. Mortals have cows and pigs, there's no need to retain herds of softling livestock that walks about on two feet and shouldn't be eaten for health reasons. The argument is an obvious lie: "I don't like executing newborns because I'm an obvious waste of air and would have been executed as a newborn." It's an argument for [better late than never], rather than an argument against executing unpardoned newborns. Honestly it's cruel to force those who would argue against executing newborns to continue living, Forgive them for being born, and allow them to repent.

 The death gate cycle has an archetypal and evocative line: "For every life resurrected, another dies untimely." This is real, except IRL the line goes, "For every starving orphan fed, another dies untimely." For every diabetic or pediatric cancer patient saved, several others die untimely. Most medical interventions should be considered the equivalent of mass murder. (Doctors already know this, which is they they push so hard to administer them.) 

 In the death gate cycle, the untimely deaths are quick, usually freak accidents. IRL, instead of vaccines, kill everyone pointlessly bidding up the price of food, to avoid bubonic plague et al. 

 Immigration, of course, is likewise equivalent to mass murder. The city of rome filled itself with brown slaves. Over 90% of them died when rome fell, returning the peninsula to, lol, mainly the greeks. When you import an inferior, you're saying you want to slaughter their grandchildren or great-grandchildren in job lots. As should be expected of anything as catastrophically irresponsible as civilian migration. 

 I haven't exhaustively checked yet, but slavery is also a capital crime - for the slave. If you find a slave your country, euthenize them. If the slave traders don't like that, they can not traffick slaves. Ideally they attack the guards, giving you an excuse to summarily execute them as well. Better late than never. The crime of being alive has no statue of limitations.

 Conveniently this may be the one form of eugenics that isn't inherently corrupt. Imagine parents who can't secure a pardon, but deserve to. As you're not killing the parents, they have a continuous chance to prove themselves. Likewise, the behaviour of the post-hoc sterilized parents can be used for future reference, fine-tuning others who will not be permitted to breed, or correlating adult dysfunction with indicators found in newborns. Superior in every way to post-hoc revoking the permission to breathe.

 It should go without saying, but those whose newborns are pardoned are those who paid back the debt incurred by being born and continuing to draw breath. Perhaps commute the sentence to a fine. Make the debt formal, give it a number.

Karma and the Statute of Limitations

 It's intuitively obvious that after some point, it's too late to punish a crime. 

 When Karma has to punish a criminal, it charges extra for the service. After a crime has already been committed, the point of a human justice system is to avoid this surcharge. If the debt is paid and the scales are balanced before it's called due, interest charges are minimized. Going without Judges and judgments is possible, but it's simply more expensive. Respond to someone shoving the physical away from the spiritual by shoving the physical back toward the spiritual.
 However, Karma keeps its own schedule. Mortal justice must be swift. If you ask Karma to be patient, it will if anything move the schedule up, and also will beat you black and blue for the ungrateful and irresponsible insolence. At some point Karma has already balanced the scales and charged the surcharge. At this point, human justice is nothing but a superfluous expense. If it is not swift and decisive, if it doesn't follow Machiavelli's dictum, it is not justice. A fortiori: rather than merely superfluous, it is yet another karmic debt that has to be paid. Karma has already taken the crime out of the criminal's hide - why is some disgusting mortal trying to usurp its authority and responsibility?

 Sociologically, the point of justice is to avoid the need for punishment. You want to build a society that doesn't run up karmic debts in the first place.  Stand well back from any society where criminals can seemingly get away with it.... Standing too close typically constitutes support, and Karma will not fail to notice your complicity. Well back: Lot's wife was still close enough to Sodom to look back, lament its punishment, and pay the resulting debt.
 While Karma is relatively quick to pounce on individual criminals, it seems actively sadistic when it comes to society at large. It prefers to let you run up the tab as far as possible, maximizing the karmic harvest. It will let your false society live longer precisely to make its fall that much more agonizing and total. 

 

 Come to think, that makes sense. Karma waits long enough that it does not provide discipline for free. Receiving free discipline would run up a karmic debt. The average criminal is punished quickly because they have short memories & low IQs and can't connect action to consequence. Karma is hardly going to run up a debt with itself by destroying society that hasn't yet run up eschatonic levels of debt. However, societies punished with anything less than annihilation might learn to do better. That is, they might get a lesson without paying for it, which would cause a karmic debt, which would result in a lesson, which would cause a karmic debt...
 Either way, the unjust society is destroyed. The cliff isn't littered with spiritual warning signs because Karma chooses to take the slow path, rather than the quick one. Say thanks.

 This would make things even worse. Americans would then find it impossible to flip-flop a second time. Jello man only gets one. 

 

 I've said it before: war crimes are the table stakes. Folk who burn flags can't fix america. If burning the geneva convention in effigy doesn't sound to you like a fun hobby for friendly people, you're nowhere near hard enough.

 If the DNC is too demoralized to cheat the vote properly and too scared not to let trump have da potus, it is likely trump will do nothing, because potus has no power. This will discredit immigration as a tool of self-immolation, and when trump is forced out due to term limits, they will find some new, fresh hell.

 Heroin et al are great. They let you tolerate way more tyranny than you would otherwise be able to tolerate. Fentanyl is bad - you can't submit to tyranny if you OD. Sure your relatives mourn, and that's some extra suffering, which can't be rebelled against...but they just shoot up and forget you. Supply of suffering goes down. No good.

 Maybe [[diversity]] goes back down to the 15% historical equilibrium. This will drive tyrannical innovation. There's no shortage of new forms of oppression. They overshot demand, so supply will contract. Temporarily. In the long term this new tyranny will also overshoot, voters will again respond far later than any sane person, and the ratchet goes round another notch.

 There's also the fact this will still cause a major depression. To first order approximation, the american economy is 100% bennies. The Fed wants to steal stuff from japan and canada and germany and give it all to washington insiders, but they're incompetent, so it leaks all over the country. If you shut down the bennies, you shut down the economy. Absent reserve currency status, america is a central am banana republic. GDP 19,000 per cap or so. Far-far leftists have fake jobs because they're physically incapable of providing real work; e.g. if they took STEM classes they would just fail. If they don't look poorer than the Amish it's the proceeds of crime.
 The correct play is to gently approach this 19,000 equilibrium, rather than attempting to do it suddenly and overshooting.
 Unfortunately, jello man is incapable of doing any such thing. Have to have a strong president with an adamantine vision for about ten terms or so, 20% of the total lifetime of the country. Whoopsie doodle. It's a good thing america founded explicitly so it can fall over, or you might think it was badly designed.

 I wonder what the jello man equivalent of the year of five emperors is. It's late in the timeline, but it hasn't happened yet, so the card is still in the deck. A DNC win will lock in that future. That one NYT poll is correct: there is a 100% chance trump will win the vote. However, elections are wars, they are not decided by voting. 

 The DNC absolutely wants to put every commoner deprecated-american into concentration camps. A DNC win will certainly embolden this sentiment. However, it is almost certain they're too weak and dispirited to do more than lock up a ricky vaughn here or there. That is: they tried lockdowns. They had to give up. Trump's going away, being a rich commoner - breaking sumptuary laws. Wrong social class, lol.
