Lingering Cough Kills Fatties

Reminder that journalists don't talk about basic facts.

Something most doctors probably already know: the lingering cough is what makes ncov more dangerous than the flu. If you're old or fat your lungs can already barely keep up. A little nudge is all it takes for oxygen to go below replacement. You won't die immediately from an oxygen deficit, but the bigger the debt the more likely it is to kill you. Since ncov lingers, the deficit lingers and the debt grows bigger.

It's not caused by corona making you sick when influenza wouldn't.

This is also why turning the patient on their front helps so much. Makes it easier to breathe. You can try this at home. Passes what I call the kitchen test: go into your kitchen and breathe on your back, then on your front; even if you're perfectly healthy you will be able to tell the difference. Likewise, this mechanism makes it obvious that ventilators have no chance of being helpful.

I still staunchly maintain that ~nobody extra has died of ncov and anyone (NYT) who says otherwise is flat-out lying or too stupid to live. (Further, even the worst lies don't even put life expectancy below than the 1970s. You know, when America was notoriously a worthless hellhole everyone wanted to leave. Even the most hysterical hysterions don't say it's that bad.) Ironically the left was correct the first time. Which is probably why they changed their minds. It's basically the flu, although with a slightly higher fatality rate. Like the flu, even a real vaccine (as opposed to the ones they're using) will be mostly useless because the virus will mutate. If your lungs suck it will, maybe, in less than half of years, stave off death for one year. Great work.

New failcomment system also fails to publish my comments, it's not limited to yours. Keep trying, it will usually work, eventually.
Blogger deliberately trying to kill itself, I expect.
